Project Overview

The Great Indian Science Festival transformed Airia Mall into a space for discovery, experimentation and family participation. The festival brought science beyond the classroom through engaging activities designed to make learning interactive and enjoyable.

Held across three weekends in May 2023, the experience combined science-focused programming with outreach to schools, residential communities and families in the surrounding catchment area.

The Brief

The objective was to attract visitors from surrounding catchment areas and create an engaging science experience for children, students and families. Key objectives included:

  • Attracting visitors to Airia Mall through a distinctive, interactive festival.
  • Reaching students and connecting with schools.
  • Encouraging participation from academies and educational communities.
  • Offering engaging, hands-on activities beyond conventional learning.
  • Building awareness through digital channels, residential communities and educational outreach.

The Challenge

The experience needed to appeal to different audiences, from students and educators to parents and families, while giving visitors a compelling reason to participate.

The challenge was to make science accessible and enjoyable through interactive experiences while building awareness across the mall’s surrounding communities.

The Approach

MakerMasti brought together experiential programming and audience outreach to create a science-focused festival designed around participation. The approach included:

  1. 01

    Hands-on discovery

Interactive science experiences that encouraged visitors to explore and experiment.

  2. 02

    Family engagement

  5. 05

    Digital promotion

Festival promotion through social platforms and BookMyShow channels.

The Festival Experience

The Great Indian Science Festival brought together science-themed activities and interactive experiences for children, students and families.

The planned experience encompassed science pavilions, experiments, workshops, games and puzzles, science shows, storytelling, technology-led activities and opportunities for visitors to engage with science in a hands-on way.

The festival was promoted through a combination of digital communication, residential outreach and educational engagement, helping connect the experience with audiences beyond the mall itself.
