Project Overview

MakerMasti partnered with Lulu Mall, Lucknow, to create a science-themed event designed to give children and families an engaging reason to visit and participate.

Presented as the Lulu Science Fest, the experience focused on robotics, science activities and interactive games. The event plan combined family-focused programming on weekends with school engagement on weekdays, supported by outreach to schools, academy partnerships and social media promotion.

The Brief

The event aimed to create a distinctive family experience at Lulu Mall while attracting students and visitors from the surrounding catchment area. Key objectives included:

  • Attracting 1,000+ visitors.
  • Reaching 600+ students.
  • Building connections with schools.
  • Encouraging academy participation.
  • Offering premium, out-of-the-box experiences.
  • Reaching neighbouring catchment areas.

The Challenge

The event needed to appeal to families visiting the mall as well as school groups and student communities. It also needed to make science and robotics engaging enough to encourage active participation rather than passive viewing.

A coordinated event plan and audience outreach strategy were important to connect the experience with these different audiences.

The Approach

MakerMasti structured the event around interactive programming and targeted outreach.

  1. 01

    Hands-on discovery

Science experiences and fun experiments designed to encourage children to explore and participate.

  2. 02

    Robotics-led engagement

Robotics-themed activities, including a dancing robot, to create a distinctive attraction for young visitors.

  3. 03

    Family participation

Interactive games, puzzles, storytelling and workshops to make the event engaging for children and their families.

  4. 04

    School outreach

School collaborations, direct outreach and ticket distribution to connect with student communities.

  5. 05

    Digital promotion

Social media marketing across Instagram, YouTube and Facebook to build awareness and generate event interest.

The Festival Experience

Fun With Robotics Fest brought together robotics, science and hands-on activities in a family-oriented mall setting. The planned activity programme included:

  • Four or more science experience zones
  • Ten or more fun experiments
  • Science workshops and hands-on activities
  • Science-toy takeaways
  • Storytelling
  • Fun games and puzzles
  • A dancing robot
  • A lively event host

The event setup featured robotics displays and interactive activity areas. Photographs from the event show children and adults participating in hands-on activities, engaging with games and exploring robotics-themed experiences.

Audience Outreach

The outreach strategy focused on reaching families, schools and educational communities through multiple channels.

  • Social media marketing

Promotion across Instagram, YouTube and Facebook, including creator content. Featured creator posts recorded 70K, 107K and 104K views respectively.

  • School collaborations

Outreach included school visits and meetings, emails, calls, WhatsApp messaging, invitations and follow-ups. School science shows were used to introduce students to the event and invite them to attend.

  • School participation and ticket distribution

A total of 4,200 tickets were distributed to schools before the event. The schools listed included St. Francis School, Brigedo Morella Convent School, Mercury Convent School and Radiant Public School, among others.

  • Academy partnerships

Academy partnerships formed part of the outreach plan to connect with relevant student audiences.

The Results

The event recorded registrations, check-ins and on-ground attendance across its campaign period.

The Impact

Fun With Robotics Fest brought science and robotics into a family-focused mall environment through interactive activities and hands-on experiences. By combining on-ground programming with school collaborations, academy partnerships and digital promotion, MakerMasti supported the event with a multi-channel approach to audience engagement.

The recorded registrations, check-ins and footfalls provide measurable indicators of participation, while the school outreach and creator content extended the event’s promotional activity beyond the mall.
